When I used to take my daily morning walk in the beautiful country village of Delaware township NJ, I noticed a fragrance growing on the hills there. The smell was somewhat like a lilac bush but it was in the heat of summer…not spring. I tracked down where the wonderful fragrance was coming from….there I spotted some clumps of purple flowers.- the phlox They were hidden….but the smell made them stand out. Would love to plant this perennial!
