Very few flowers bloom during the cold winter months, and the foliage which graced the garden with it’s beautiful fall colors, has long since fallen to the ground. To fill this winter time void, botanists came up with our purple friend….ornamental cabbage (please do not try to eat it). No….you will not find a cabbage patch kid growing in these plants…lol…but the color will last until the first killing frost. Covering the plant will not help, it causes this plant to die out.
